Current COVID-19 Practices

A5 has a comprehensive set of policies and practices to help mitigate and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Those policies stem from collective suggestions from the CDC, Georgia Department of Health, and amateur and professional sports programs across the nation. Below is a snapshot of what those look like to help answer some of the questions you might have for the 2020-2021 A5 Season.

  • Travel: A5 has taken an effort this year to balance our desire to compete at the highest level in the country on the one hand, and limit travel and costs on the other. We will continue to travel and lodge together from the 14 and older ages, although the majority of our tournaments are drivable or in town. If you commit to play on an A5 team but have extenuating health circumstances or concerns, please notify your head coach and the A5 Leadership will follow up with you on an individual basis to meet your family's needs.
  • Practices: Our practice facilities have in-depth guidelines and procedures for all participants. These guidelines can be found on the A5 website. The guidelines include but are not limited to signage, liability waivers, temperature checks, daily cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces and equipment, mask protocols for spectators, hand sanitization during activities, and the promotion of social distancing when applicable.
  • Resolution: If a player or coach tests positive with the COVID-19 virus, they will not be able to return to the gym subsequent a 10-day period of quarantine after initial symptoms in accordance with the prevailing CDC and local guidelines. If the corresponding team, including coaches and players, has been deemed to have been exposed, they must receive a negative test result prior to their return to the gym or after a 7-day period without signs of symptoms. If you test positive for COVID, you do not need to test again after quarantine to return, or if exposed in the future per the CDC recommendations.

All policies and procedures are subject to change based on the prevailing guidelines of the CDC, Georgia Department of Health, and amateur and professional sports programs across the nation.

A5 Chattanooga Volleyball Club: Teaching life lessons through the sport of volleyball.

All of our teams are encouraged to give back to the community by undertaking a community service project that may or may not have anything to do with volleyball.
